Todd Rundgren
A Wizard, A True Star – Il titolo dell’album solista di Todd Rundgren del 1973 prefigura giustamente il contributo di questo artista poliedrico alla musica all’avanguardia. Come cantante, autore, pioniere del video, produttore, artista di registrazione, sviluppatore di software per computer, concettualista e artista interattivo, negli ultimi 50 anni Rundgren ha avuto un impatto duraturo sulla forma, il contenuto e la consegna della musica popolare. Il suo album fondamentale Something/Anything? (1972), su cui suonava tutti gli strumenti, cantava tutte le parti vocali e fungeva da produttore, catapultò Rundgren sotto i riflettori delle superstar, spingendo la stampa a ribattezzarlo all’unanimità “Rock’s New Wunderkind”.
